Hiding Linux Dot Files in Filezilla

Linux inspires you to be more efficient in everything you do on the desktop. That’s the effect it has on me anyway, after oh so many years working in Windows. I manage a number of web sites and do a lot of FTPing with Filezilla and realized I could be more efficient if I could hide dot files like .ftpquota, .trash, etc.  Here’s a screenshot of what I’m referring to.

All of those dot files simply slow us down navigating to where we need to go.  Fortunately Filezilla has nice file display filtering support. Here’s a screenshot.

Simply select “Configuration files” and BAM!, those proliferous Dot Files in your ftp windows are gone.

Here’s the same remote server file display with Configuration files hidden.

Efficiency gained!
