We talked about using our local Tomcat server with Eclipse Web Projects, but in development we are usually best served by using the Eclipse Application Server. If you’re like me, you want to go back and forth between local web servers and the Eclipse application server, or perhaps you need both for some reason. Unfortunately, when we attempt to run both servers at port 8080, whoever grabs the port first wins.
Because both servers cannot use the same port we will modify the port addresses of our Eclipse Server. Real easy.
Just open the Eclipse Tomcat Server…
…and modify the port addresses. Here are the port assignments that work for me.
Like I said, real easy. Tomcat servers everywhere!
