In an effort to increase my Git proficiency and to serve as a “Git Scratch” project I added a project called “Gitwork” to my Eclipse Workspace. While making updates and adding files I noticed that my Git changes weren’t being reflected in the Eclipse Project Explorer. Here’s a screenshot with Git updates like the “>” icon displayed.
Adding the Repository
While the project may be fully Git Aware, Eclipse needs a Repository assigned to the project. We’re going to do that in the Repositories View. We have a repository assigned for our NixMash Spring project, but not for “Gitwork”.
We’ll next go to the project directory and select it.
Bam! There it is and those great Git Icons we saw above are now displayed in the Project Explorer.
